Executive Committee
The Executive Committee works together to assure that the Mission Statement of MainStreet is implemented by the Board of Directors. In lieu of the entire Board, the Executive Committee may exercise powers of authority, reporting any action at the next succeeding meeting. The Executive Committee shall determine the yearly budget, subject to the approval of a majority of the Board of Directors.
The Executive Committee consists of the four elected officers and the Village Liaison in an advisory role. Detailed job descriptions are outlined in the By-Laws. The Executive officers are elected by the 7-person Board of Directors at the 1st Board Meeting following the annual meeting.
President
Presides over monthly Board Meetings according to "Roberts Rules of Order", may delegate responsibilities to other Directors. Represents the organization in public, in dealings with the press, and with local officials. Provides direction to staff and other directors.
Vice-President
Presides over the organization in the President's absence and other performs duties or special projects as assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.
Secretary
Maintains all corporate records, keeps minutes of all meetings, manages official correspondence and communications, and ensures proper notification of all meetings. Maintains a current roster of Board Members, a current Membership roster and a current calendar of all organizational activities.
Treasurer
Acts as the principal accounting and financial officer of the corporation. Maintains all books and accounts, assumes custody of all funds, and performs all financial duties assigned by the Board. Prepares monthly & periodic reports for the Board and Committees.
